MY journey to clinical supervision
As an Approved Clinical Supervisor. I am passionate about mentoring the next generation of mental health professionals, and have found great joy in fostering growth and excellence within new clinicians in the field.
With over nineteen years of experience as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Addiction Therapist, my career began in addiction treatment before transitioning into school-based mental health, where I have played a key role in developing innovative programs, expanding access to care, and providing guidance and supervision to early-career counselors.
Previously, I served as Program Director for Magellan Federal, where I led global behavioral health services supporting military families across seven countries and Hawaii. With a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision, I am a sought-after speaker recognized for my data-driven approach to wellness and mental health.
In addition to my clinical work, I support two CACREP-accredited Universities, teaching group practicum, counseling skills, and diversity courses for master’s-level students, helping to shape the future of the profession through education and mentorship.
My dedication to counselor education has garnered national recognition, including the 2023 Caron Foundation Award for my pioneering work in school-based substance abuse treatment and the 2024 Rocky Mountain Research Award for excellence in Counselor Education and Supervision, highlighting my research on the alliance in dual-role supervision.
As a clinical supervisor, mentor, and thought leader, I am dedicated to empowering emerging counselors with the skills, insight, and ethical foundation needed to thrive in the ever-evolving field of mental health care.
Beyond work, I’m energized by adventure and discovery. I’ve lived in two countries outside the U.S. and love exploring—through travel, photography, and time in nature. Being a mom is one of my greatest joys. I recharge outdoors, camera in hand, finding beauty in the little things.
